21Net is currently deploying a complete Internet and Multimedia system on the new Alstom AGV trains for NTV in Italy. As part of this system, an IPTV solution enables passengers to view live television while traveling at 300kph. IPTV will be used to broadcast live events such as sports or newscasts on-board the train. During the trial period, 21Net has been able to test the system at speeds exceeding 300 kph, with optimal performance results, allowing the company to now offer this IPTV solution to other railway companies.

21Net, premier supplier of on board broadband internet, multimedia and connectivity solutions to railway companies, today announced that a group of investors led by Innovacom, one of Europe’s leading telecommunication and IT Venture Capital firms, has made a £6,5 million investment in 21Net. Additional funds were provided by BIP as well as other existing shareholders.
